Parmi les meilleurs de sa génération l'an passé sur les balais, Président José est en mesure de s'illustrer d'emblée sur les ''gros'' dans cette épreuve. Toutefois, l'élève de Robert Collet devra redouter en priorité les candidatures de Garry Flight, qui débute également sur le steeple mais qui avait montré de la qualité sur les haies et de Gaelic Beauty, encore assez perfectible mais qui semble posséder une belle marge de progression devant elle dans cette discipline. Celtill, confié à Christophe Pieux, Victory Man, en progrès comme en atteste sa récente tentative à Auteuil et Seigneur des Bois, en forme à l'heure actuelle, s'annoncent également compétitifs pour les accessits.
